Jose Mourinho, who was recently sacked from Roma, could be close to starting a new journey without leaving Italy. According to 'The Sunday Times', the Portuguese will meet with Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis this week, who wants him in charge of his team for the 2024-25 season.

'The Special One' bid farewell to Roma with "sweat, blood and tears", as Mourinho himself wrote on his social media after his sacking. However, it seems he will be short-lived on the sidelines. Napoli are very interested in acquiring his services for next season.
'The Sunday Times' reports that the coach will meet with De Laurentiis this week to discuss his future. The Napoli president believes that Mourinho is the best option to take the reins of the team.
Since Spalletti's departure, the club has struggled to find the perfect coach. Rudi Garcia was his replacement, but it didn't work out and he had to step down in November. Now it is Walter Mazzarri who is at the helm, but he is not convincing either, having won only four of the 11 matches he has managed.
For his part, Mourinho would like to stay in Italy and the project offered by Napoli would appeal to him. It now remains to be seen whether the two parties will come to an understanding and we will see the Portuguese in the Napoli dugout next season.
