The quarter-finals of the Champions League 2022/2023 are now over and we finally know the four remaining teams in the fight for European glory this season.
In this case, as if fate would have it, history repeats. Real Madrid and Manchester City will face each other again in the semi-finals after last year's meeting in the last four, which resulted in one of the most epic ties in history.
It is worth remembering that last year 'Los Blancos' produced a comeback that will go down in the history books in the second leg at the Bernabeu. Ancelotti's side lost the first leg at the Etihad 4-3 and in the return leg their hopes were all but gone in the final minutes of the game when they were 0-1 down. But a last-gasp Rodrygo brace in two minutes sent the game into extra time, where Benzema's penalty goal sent Madrid into the final and they went on to win it against Liverpool.
On the other hand, we have a beautiful 'Derby della Madonnina' between Milan and Inter Milan. Pioli's team managed to qualify for the next round despite being underdogs as they faced Serie A leaders Napoli in the quarter-finals. The 'Rossoneri' won the first leg 1-0 and with that slender lead it was enough to advance to the next round after a 1-1 draw in the second leg.
Inzaghi's side showed their desire to return to those great European nights after beating Benfica 2-0 away from home in the first leg. The Portuguese side tried to pull off a comeback in the second leg but came up against a solid Inter side who booked their place in the semi-finals after the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
