Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone on Wednesday conveyed the "condolences" of the Madrid side "to all the people of Valencia" for the "very hard time" they are going through because of the floods caused by the Dana last night, which have caused at least 62 deaths and dozens of missing people.
"Our condolences to all the people of Valencia for the difficult time they are going through, to accompany the families and to be as close as possible to all this that has unfortunately happened," began Wednesday's press conference prior to Thursday's Copa del Rey match against Vic.
Some regions of Spain are in a complete crisis because of the floods and the damage caused by the storm, especially in Andalusia and Valencia. In fact, there are plans to suspend up to five La Liga matches that are due to be played on Valencian soil.
The vast majority of Spanish clubs have also sent their condolences to those affected by the natural disaster and even Valencia have turned Mestalla into a food bank during these days to help the citizens.
