Victor Osimhen will remain a Napoli player until 2026. Hours before the game against Roma at the Olimpico stadium, the southern Italian club announced the renewal of the Nigerian striker.
It was first Aurelio de Laurentiis, the club's president, who announced the renewal with two photos, the same ones that were replicated minutes later on the club's official Twitter profile.
It is the Christmas present for all Napoli fans. Oshimen's contract was due to expire in 2025, so there was still time to extend it. The Nigerian striker will now command a salary of around €10m, a substantial rise that places him as a benchmark in Mazzarri's squad, with a termination clause of €120m.
Napoli have rushed to announce the striker's renewal shortly before he packs his bags for the Africa Cup of Nations, where he will attempt to lead the Super Eagles to the continental title.
The next renewal to be discussed by the Italian side is that of Piotr Zielinski, although there is no certainty that it will happen in the coming weeks.
