"My sending-off? Maybe I need to work on my behaviour"

German coach Hansi Flick spoke about his sending-off against Betis, which earned him a two-match ban, and admitted that "perhaps" he needs to work on his behaviour, although he expressed the hope that "referees will whistle in the same way, not just against Barcelona."
Flick gave his opinion on issues other than football tactics. He responded when asked about his sending off against Betis and whether he thought the sanction was fair, and the German coach expanded on this.
"I think my reaction was not good, it's clear, it was myself (...) At the beginning of the season, I told my staff not to complain about the referees, because I don't want us to waste energy on those things that we can't change," he said.
"It was hard for me, I'm in a different league, I've just arrived and I was sent off. I accept the suspension. Maybe I need to work on my behaviour. I just want the referees to whistle in the same way, not just with Barca," he insisted.
Flick revealed that he always tells his players that they have to accept the referee's decisions and play and he was pleased that they don't complain about the referees.
"The behaviour is fantastic, different from a few years ago and this is the philosophy. We have to pay attention to what we can do better. Referees can also improve. We are all human beings and we all make mistakes. I accept the red card, I have to improve my reactions, that's my responsibility", he added.
As for Sunday's game, he asked his players to play with "100% concentration" against an opponent who will be looking for Barcelona's weak points. "Everything depends on us," he said.
