The Brazilian defender could be on his way out of the Birmingham club after an agreement was reached with Fenerbahce, as per Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu.
Diego Carlos is therefore on the verge of becoming the second player offloaded by Unai Emery's side in this winter transfer market after Jaden Philogene, who was sold to fund the €25m-signing of Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund.
The move would benefit both sides as the 31-year-old, bought by Villa in 2022 from Sevilla, is expected to see more minutes under Jose Mourinho at the Turkish capital while the Villains can begin their hunt for another player able to help solve their defensive woes.
The terms of the agreement are yet to be understood and it remains to be seen whether any confirmation will arrive from Aston Villa's end. Diego Carlos has registered 58 appearances in just under three seasons in the English top-flight club.
