Madrid beat Leipzig and show they are in top form

A Brahim Diaz goal gives Real Madrid victory in the first leg of their last-16 tie against a RB Leipzig side that fought for the game and had plenty of chances to score.

The match got off to a frenetic start with a goal for RB Leipzig in the second minute, but the referee flagged Hendrichs offside and Sesko's goal did not go in. After that, both teams enjoyed chances but it was not until the 48th minute of the second half when Brahim picked up the ball and rounded two Leipzig players to score the first goal of the game. The Spanish midfielder scored a superb goal after a great shot from outside the box. In the second half Leipzig had several chances to tie the game but Lunin denied the German team of an equaliser.
