Extra time banned in the Spanish Super Cup

The Committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) approved the elimination of extra time in the men's and women's Spanish Super Cup matches, which it has already implemented in other competitions, in order to alleviate playing time for the players.
With this modification, the RFEF stated that it responds to the requests of clubs participating in these tournaments and tries to alleviate the minutes of competition for the players. This has already been done in other competitions such as the Copa del Rey and the Copa Federacion, and in line with what is being implemented in other similar competitions at the European and world levels.
From now on, if at the end of regulation time, there is still a draw between the clubs, the winners will be decided by penalties.
