"What they don't win on the field, they're trying to win from us in the offices"

Barcelona president Joan Laporta responded to La Liga's statement on the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. He accused La Liga of trying to destabilise the club.

The ‘Dani Omo case’ is back in the news after La Liga, on Wednesday, denounced the auditor appointed by Barcelona for the sale of the VIP boxes that allowed both Olmo and Pau Víctor to be registered. The latest information, reported by ‘El Confidencial’, says that the external auditor has not given the go-ahead and therefore this income of 100 million euros has disappeared from the Azulgrana club's accounts.
Once La Liga has made public that it is going to denounce the auditor, two days before the CSD pronounces itself on the inscriptions of Olmo and Pau Víctor, Joan Laporta has responded before entering the lunch of directives with Atletico Madrid. The Barcelona president claims that they are trying to destabilise the team just hours before the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.
"We see it as another attempt to harm Barcelona's interests and damage the club's image. Obviously, the club will respond once the legal services have thoroughly analysed the letter from La Liga and no one should have any doubt that we will respond forcefully, as forcefully as necessary in defence of Barcelona's interests," said the president.
Laporta insisted on the idea of destabilising the team by La Liga: "This is not by chance. We are playing a semi-final against Atletico, which I hope will be a great footballing spectacle, and it is no coincidence that controversy of this kind is being revived."
"It's another attempt to destabilise our team. I also sometimes have the feeling that with all this, what they can't win on the pitch, they try to win from us in the offices. As president of Barcelona, I am not going to allow this, I will continue to defend Barcelona's interests in defence of our members and our sportsmen and women", he claimed.
Laporta also recalled that "three months ago the registrations of Olmo and Pau Víctor were carried out correctly." "We had followed all the requirements of the Federation and the League. This is still valid today," he said.
