Udinese's Spanish striker Gerard Deulofeu had to be substituted at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the last game before the World Cup after suffering a left knee injury in the 25th minute against Napoli.
The former Barca player confessed how he avoided a much more serious injury: "I recovered thanks to my good form and the training I've been doing for years."
In addition, Deulofeu told how he lived the moment he fell to the turf: "I heard how it creaked. And well, it's clear that at that moment I thought the worst... I've underwent two knee surgeries and I thought it could be a third one."
"That's where I realise that all the mental and physical training helps me. Being ready for the game saves me time away from the match," he concluded.
