Controversy continues at Napoli as Osimhen is benched at Lecce

Victor Osimhen and Napoli have been at loggerheads for several days now, following a video posted on the club's official TikTok account which appeared to mock the Nigerian player. "What happened today (...) is not acceptable," said his agent Roberto Calenda.
On the pitch, the striker responded with a goal against Udinese on Wednesday evening after ignoring several of his team-mates in the build-up to the game. While the situation does not appear to have calmed down, the Neapolitan club has explained why the video was posted on social networks.
Although the controversy does not seem to have been completely dispelled by Napoli, the player was not rewarded by Rudi Garcia for his goal against Udinese three days ago.
The French coach has opted to leave the Nigerian on the bench against Lecce on Saturday afternoon. Gio Simeone will start alongside Kvaratskhelia in the Neapolitan attack.
