Barcelona are to launch a participatory process through an external company to create a permanent fan zone at the new Spotify Camp Nou, the club announced on Monday after their monthly board meeting.
The club plans to approve the new format between June and July, and expects to finalise the new cheering space and its members between August and September.
"The club is working on this initiative, which received the support of the Board of Directors during its monthly meeting today Monday. The plan is to engage in dialogue with all stakeholders who may have an interest in a dedicated 'animation space', including club members, players, staff, and experts in such supporter schemes, among many others."
This move comes three months after Barcelona announced on 26 November the decision to close the space at the Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc to the different supporters' groups "due to the non-compliance" of the different groups with "the obligations assumed" with the club.
The club justified this measure by "repeated warnings" to the different supporters' groups (Almogavers, Front 532, Nostra Ensenya and Supporters Barca) to "recover the amount of the sanctions imposed on the club for their behaviour in the stands last season".
