Barca ask about Pedro Porro despite Tottenham's offer

'Record' says that Barcelona got in contact with Sporting Lisbon to ask about Pedro Porro's departure price. He has an offer from Tottenham while Real Madrid and Atletico are also interested. Barca have yet to put in an offer either and Tottenham are the favourites to get hold of him.

Pedro Porro is only 23 and is one of the best players at Sporting Lisbon. Ahead of the summer transfer window, it is quite likely he will move elsewhere because several top clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Tottenham and Atletico want him. 'Record' report that Barca are the latest to ask about his buyout clause.
The Catalans, however, did not ask with the intention of making an offer, unlike Tottenham. The Premier League outfit have offered 40 million euros, just five million less than his buyout clause. Tottenham is his most likely destination, but it is also possible he may not leave Lisbon until the summer.
All those clubs interested, except those in the Premier League, hope Sporting reduce their asking price. However, this looks unlikely. The footballer has a contract at the Portuguese giants until 2025 and he is very important for the coach so Sporting will not let him go on the cheap.
Barcelona are not in the best financial state at the moment so they will not spend huge amounts of money on players. This rules them out of the running for Pedro Porro, who has plenty of time to decide and options to choose from.
