Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said ahead of the Premier League game against West Ham that the Gunners will talk to Thomas Partey about a possible renewal, with the midfielder set to be a free agent at the end of the season.

Thomas Partey has managed to put his bad luck with injuries behind him and has re-established himself as a key player in Mikel Arteta's plans, who praised the midfielder after he scored in Arsenal's midweek win over Sporting.
However, the Ghanaian's future at the Gunners is far from assured, as the 31-year-old midfielder's contract expires in June 2025, meaning he would be a free agent at the end of the season and would leave the London club for free.
The Emirates Stadium outfit want to avoid this happening at all costs and will meet with the former Atletico Madrid player to offer him a contract extension, something Mikel Arteta has spoken about ahead of Arsenal's game against West Ham.
"We will have time to discuss about the situation. He is showing consistency at the highest level, again because his availability and the way that he feels physically is allowing him to do that. I’m very happy with Thomas," he said.
