Valencia thrashing a 'turning point' for Barcelona, says Ferran Torres

Barcelona striker Ferran Torres said that Sunday's 7-1 win over Valencia in La Liga EA Sports was “a turning point” for the Catalan team in the championship.
“We were not in our best dynamic in La Liga. Today has been a turning point for us, to get this victory at home in La Liga to take a step forward has been very good for us,” said the Spanish international to ‘DAZN’ from the mixed zone of the Olympic Stadium Lluís Companys.
The Valencian attacker, who started and scored a goal, admitted that “it is always important to play and participate in goals”, but denied that his performance has served to vindicate him.
“I try to take advantage of the minutes so that the coach knows I'm ready when he needs me. I can play in any position up top, I attack the spaces, I have a goal and I give assists. The coach can count on me,” explained Ferran.
The striker, a former Valencia player, revealed that he got “goosebumps” when rival defender Mouctar Diakhaby came on in the second half after eleven months out with injury.
“I shared a dressing room with him. I'm sure it's been a very difficult few months for him. I'm very proud of him for feeling like a footballer again. I hope he can enjoy football again,” said Ferran, who expressed the wish that Valencia can avoid relegation.
