Wilfred Zaha's contract is up in the summer and his market value is around €30 million, meaning he is an attractive option for most top sides. That is why Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus and Roma are all interested in signing him at a reduced price or even better, free, in a few months time.
'The Athletic' are the ones who revealed that Spurs, Juventus and Roma have joined in the fight for him, and they also claim the player wants to end his current contract with the Eagles. Therefore, a move this month has been ruled out. From the point of view of his owners, this gives them a chance to try and convince him to stay at the side.
His manager Patrick Vieira has said in several press conferences that he wants to continue working with him, but that he will respect his decision. According to the media mentioned, what his player wants is to wait six months to leave without having to depend on whether or not the board will accept an offer. He will be therefore the master of his own destiny and will opt for whatever one he wants.
Should Zaha's situation lean towards a departure, Palace will lose a professional who has been a key player in their line-ups since the 14-15 season, after arriving from Manchester United. He has never dropped below 29 appearances per season - not counting the current one, of course - which speaks volumes not only for his performance, but also for his consistency and physicality.
