Sporting Lisbon have officially launched their 2024/25 third kit, and just like last year, it pays tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo. The kit features the forward's iconic number 7 - which he wore throughout his career at Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus and now at Al Nassr - stylishly painted on the front side.
Although the initials 'CR7' were dropped, the colours used for the jersey remain the same as the ones in the 2023/24 edition, with the writing 'super bock' also included in the back of the kit. “In honour of Cristiano, we invite you to wear the No.7 jersey, the third kit of the 2024/25 season," Sporting stated.
Ironically, the 39-year-old never wore the number 7 on the back during his time at the Portuguese side. After making his way up to the senior team, Ronaldo was given the number 28 shirt during the 2002/03 campaign that he played with Sporting.
With his Al Nassr contract approaching its expiration date this summer, Ronaldo has been linked to a return to his boyhood club. Rumors suggest that Sporting's move to dedicate him their third kit implies that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner could comeback to finally wear his iconic number in the club where he made his first steps as a professional footballer.
