Croatia, Italy and the Netherlands are Spain's possible opponents in the quarter-finals of the Nations League. The draw will take place on Friday 22nd November and the Spanish national team, the group winners, will face one of the second-placed teams in this first phase, with the return leg at home thanks to these initial results.
On Friday 22nd November, Spain will know their opponents in the quarter-finals of the Nations League, in the debut of the new format of the competition, a round to which they reached with a strong showing in Group A4. Luis de la Fuente's side qualified with two games to play and were mathematically group winners with a game to spare.
With 16 points from a possible 18, conceding only a goalless draw in Serbia, reigning Nations League champions Spain were the team with the most points on their way to the quarter-finals. Portugal, with 14, France and Germany - the latter with one match remaining - both with 13, also finished top of their groups.
Croatia, in Group A1; Italy, who let the lead slip on the last day when they were surprised at home by France in Group A2; and the Netherlands, in Group A3, are the countries that finished second and possible opponents of the Spanish team in the quarter-finals, the first leg of which will be played on 20th March and the second leg on 23rd March, possibly in Valencia in a gesture of solidarity for the victims of the floods.
