The Spanish internationals and members of the national team coaching staff, led by head coach Luis de la Fuente, observed a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the floods.
Spain opened their first training session at the Ciudad del Futbol and each fan who came in made a donation that will go towards the reconstruction of sports facilities in the areas affected by the hurricane in the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha.
Before training began, the players and members of the coaching staff stood in the centre circle and observed an emotional minute's silence, as did the hundreds of fans present at the Ciudad del Fútbol.
On the footballing front, neither Alvaro Morata nor Pau Torres were on the pitch. The Milan striker is being treated with caution after a head trauma in training, while the Aston Villa centre-back suffered an overload and was not wanted to take any risks with him.
