Arne Slot believes no one should feel sorry Guardiola, even though he is currently enduring the worst form of his managerial career. The Liverpool boss insists Guardiola will be able to turn City's fortunes around and catch up to his side at the top of the table.

Manchester City slipped down to 5th place following their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday as Guardiola's hopes to claim a fifth successive Premier League title start to fade. But, Liverpool boss Slot insists that the defending champions will be able to move past their slump to catch up to his side at the top.
"The league is not decided in November or December," Slot said post-match, pointing out that in the previous campaign, City were in a somewhat similar situation. "Last season they were eight points behind Arsenal somewhere in February I think," he added.
City are currently enduring their worst run of form since appointing Guardiola as manager back in 2016, as they are winless in seven successive matches - six of them defeats. Nevertheless, Slot believes that no one should feel sympathy for the Catalan head coach, who has enjoyed plenty of success throughout his career.
"You feel sympathy of empathy for the managers that are in a really bad place. They've lost many, and they're down at the bottom of the league, but Pep has won so many things. No one has to feel empathy or sorry for Pep, maybe for other managers, but not for Pep. He's won so many things and he will be able to bring City back and they are actually still in the top bit of the table," the Dutch boss concluded.
