Real Madrid's Antonio Rudiger, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Endrick and Aurelien Tchouameni and Atletico Madrid's Jose María Giménez and Angel Correa face suspension warnings for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Santiago Bernabeu.
All of them have already accumulated two yellow cards in the course of the competition, with 10 games already played by Real Madrid, due to playing the play-off tie against Manchester City, and eight played by Atletico, who went straight through to the last 16 by virtue of their fifth-place finish in the top eight of the league table in the league's opening phase.
If either of them see a yellow card from French referee Clement Turpin during Tuesday's first leg they will miss the return leg at the Estadio Metropolitano on Wednesday next week.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is also on a caution and is in danger of missing the return leg if he is cautioned. Diego Simeone, his counterpart in the Atletico Madrid dugout, has only received one booking so far, in a 3-1 defeat to Lille at the Metropolitano on matchday three.
