Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez, who picked up an injury in Sunday's Eredivisie match against NAC Breda, will be out for around three months, the Dutch club said on Tuesday.
The Mexican, who started the game, felt a discomfort in his right leg. The player, who was stretchered off, was taken off the pitch by the home side's coaching staff.
Feyenoord simply reported that, following further tests, he has a thigh injury that "requires a recovery period of approximately three months". Thus, he could have played his last game in 2024, a year that will come to an end for the Rotterdam club on 22 December against PSV.
Gimenez has played in all seven of Feyenoord's matches since the start of this campaign. And until his injury, he has managed to score four goals.
