Saka confident in Arsenal's ambitions for Premier League and Champions League glory

Bukayo Saka has boldly stated that he and his Arsenal teammates are "not scared" of aiming to win the Premier League and Champions League this season. Despite finishing as runners-up to Manchester City in the past two domestic campaigns, Saka remains optimistic about Arsenal's chances. "We're not scared".
The last two seasons we've competed for the league and come very close," he told BBC Sport in an exclusive interview. Arsenal's return to the Champions League last season, after a six-year absence, has given them valuable experience, and Saka believes this will aid their quest for trophies.
"We're also back in the Champions League - we have some experience there now - so we feel we're ready to compete for every trophy," he added. The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League, six points off the top spot, and Saka is determined to help the team end their four-year trophy drought.
"We really want to take that next step and try to win something," he emphasized. Saka's personal experiences, including winning the FA Cup in 2020 and the disappointment of losing two European Championship finals and twice finishing second in the Premier League, serve as strong motivation.
"It's horrible, I'll be honest," he said, reflecting on the near-misses. The frustration of coming so close without winning is a driving force for Saka. "You work the whole season and you're so close, you've literally got one hand on the trophy, you're in the final or you're right there to win the Premier League, or whatever trophy you're competing for that season, and then you don't win it... it's like the whole year's work... and nothing to show for it," he explained. Despite the pride in seasonal progress and development, Saka's focus is on tangible success.
"I know you can be proud of the season and evolution and development, but that's why more than ever we want to take the next step and win," he concluded. Saka's determination is shared by his teammates, who are all eager to bring home a major trophy. With Mikel Arteta's managerial approach and the team's growing experience, Arsenal are well-positioned to make a strong push for both domestic and European honors.
