It was a bad afternoon for Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr as the Saudi side were knocked out of the last 16 of the Saudi Cup after losing 1-0 to Al Taawoun on Tuesday.
The Portuguese striker, who had it in his power to tie the game and prolong his side's cup run for at least a few more minutes, was resigned, sad and angry.
In the 96th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo had a penalty kick to restart the game. However, the Portuguese star sent it over the bar. It all came a day after the Ballon d'Or gala, where the Portuguese had been accustomed to appearing for the past decade and a half.
So far, Al Nassr's season has not been brilliant. They are in third place in the Saudi League and fourth in the Champions League, but only two points off the top.
