Revenge against Madrid is "not the right word"
Jurgen Klopp's assistant Pep Lijnders spoke in the pre-match press conference for this Wednesday's game against Derby County in the EFL Cup. The German coach was not there but his assistant was, who said that they will not think of the game against Real Madrid as revenge.

The Champions League draw provided another rematch between Liverpool and Real Madrid. The two sides went head-to-head in last year's final, when the Spanish side reigned champions.
Jurgen Klopp's assistant Pep Lijnders gave his view on the last-16 tie in the pre-match press conference for the EFL Cup game against Derby. "We can now call it the international El Clasico, it's always special when two clubs with so much history go up against each other in this competition", the assistant said.
"I don't want to take away from, nor speak about last season, and 'revenge' is never the right word, I don't like that. It's a new competition, with new teams as well. We want to compete; we have a recent history, lots of it, in this competition", Ljinders said about the draw which put Madrid and Liverpool together.
And he ended by speaking about the Reds' poor start in Europ: "We all know that the European nights are those which everyone is nervious for, and to be in the last-16 again, after the start we had against Napoli, it's really good. We've had a consistent campaign up until now in that sense".
