Real Madrid have announced their list of called-up players for the postponed La Liga match against Valencia at Mestalla. The main novelty lies in the figure of Vinicius Junior, who missed the game against Sevilla due to suspension. The Brazilian took advantage of his early holiday to visit the United States. David Alaba, another of the week's names, will have to wait for his return because he seems to be in the final stages of his recovery.

The return of Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who was suspended for Real Madrid's last game in 2024, is Carlo Ancelotti's new addition for the first game of 2025, at Mestalla against Valencia, with Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao absent and David Alaba ruled out.
Vinicius returns to the squad after serving a one-match suspension against Sevilla in Real Madrid's last game in December. His compatriot Endrick has also been called up by Ancelotti after overcoming a slight muscular discomfort that prevented him from finishing training on 31 December.
Although Austrian defender David Alaba is already training at the same pace as his team-mates, Ancelotti has scheduled his return for 19 January against UD Las Palmas. After a year on the sidelines, he will gradually improve his fitness levels in the squad and will not travel to Valencia, nor will he play in the Copa del Rey or the Spanish Super Cup.
