Real Madrid make history in four team Super Cup with semi-final win

Real Madrid and Valencia gave it their all on the pitch, they ran on empty towards the end of the contest and Real Madrid made the final of the Spanish Super Cup. Madrid were the better side, but Valencia had plenty of chances to win it.
Finally, Real Madrid were the ones who won the contest and they did something no other team has done before. The team coached by Carlo Ancelotti became the first team to reach the final as La Liga champions. The winners of La Liga in previous editions had always lost the semi.
In addition, Real Madrid made the final for the third time in the four editions of this four team format. Madrid will defend the title for the first time since it became four teams after winning it 12 months ago as well.
Sunday will see La Liga champions Real Madrid play Copa del Rey winners Real Betis or La Liga runners-up Barcelona in the final.
