Barcelona went into the match against Valencia at the Camp Nou needing to get back to winning ways after losing their last game in the domestic championship against Almeria 1-0.
This was shown by the determination with which the 'Cules' started the game, which caused problems for the 'Che' defence from the start. And this didn't take long to take effect, as Xavi's side took the lead just 16 minutes after kick-off.
Busquets received the ball and watched as Raphinha was unmarked inside the box. The Spaniard crossed the ball to the penalty spot and Raphinha headed the ball into the net after Mamardashvili failed to parry it.
This would extend Barca's lead over Real Madrid to 10 points, although the 'Merengues' have a game in hand against Real Betis a few hours later.
