After a controversy laden weekend which saw Arsenal draw with Brentford, Man City are now just three points off leaders Arsenal ahead of their meeting on Wednesday. Man Utd will also feel they are in with a chance of winning the Premier League with just a few months left to go.

Arsenal are currently at the top of the Premier League standings, a situation nobody could have predicted at the beginning of the season. They have proved their title credentials on several occasions this term, defeating the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea to cement their position at the top.
But cracks are now starting to appear in the Gunners’ title bid as they are failing to maintain their earlier levels. Mikel Arteta’s side fell to a disappointing 1-0 loss at Everton who frustrated their attackers before scoring the deciding goal through James Tarkowski.
The North Londoners were expected to pick up full points in the home encounter against Brentford but endured another difficult game to settle for a point in the 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners’ eight-point lead has now been reduced to only three following their recent results, although they still have a game in hand to their nearest rivals. And if they lose to Manchester City in what is possibly the biggest Premier League game in football today, Arsenal will lose their top spot in the table.
On the other hand, their title rivals City were at the top of their game at the weekend against Aston Villa. They dominated the home encounter and sealed an emphatic 3-1 win to bounce back from their defeat at Tottenham.
Considering recent performances of the two title contenders, we think Manchester City will lift the Premier League trophy this season.
Pep Guardiola’s side boast an incredible strength in depth. They have Erling Haaland, the man who has already notched four hat-tricks in the English top-flight this season. Kevin De Bruyne is another star who is earning rave reviews with his performances.
And while Haaland’s injury has ruled him out of the clash at the Emirates, City’s depth in such most prediction models are backing City to win an away game at the Emirates – better odds than any other visiting Premier League team this season.
While City and Arsenal are the leading contenders for the title, Manchester United’s chances shouldn’t completely be discounted.
Erik ten Hag’s side still need improvements in several positions but their current ranking suggests they are not very far from challenging for the league title.
United dropped points against Leeds earlier this month and in January, a two-game stretch saw them draw away to Crystal Palace before losing 3-2 at the Emirates.
Had United managed three or more points from their London away games and beaten Leeds at Old Trafford last week – they would be top of the table.
With traditional rivals Liverpool and Chelsea going through their worst possible seasons, United have the space to qualify for Champions League football and invest in the squad this summer.
And more importantly, if either Arsenal or City were to get badly stuck – United are primed for an improbable push.
Arsenal and City both play twice this week before United’s game on the weekend – with the leaders expected to drop points, United could make up lost ground even before kicking a ball by Sunday.
