Barcelona player Pau Cubarsi has admitted that they are “mad” about the last ten minutes of the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals, in which Atletico Madrid tied a match (4-4) that the Catalan team controlled with a two-goal lead.
“We are mad because of the last 10 minutes the team played, we were not at our level. We deserved the draw because we lacked concentration. This can't happen,” Cubarsi lamented in statements to ‘Barca One’.
Despite this, the centre-back from Girona praised the “spectacular” 70 minutes in which Barca was able to turn around the initial 0-2 that Atletico scored in the first 6 minutes of the match.
Cubarsi, who made his scoring debut when he scored the equaliser from a corner kick, acknowledged the “immense joy” that the goal meant. “I saw Raphinha's cross and I pushed the ball in. I kissed the crest because this is the club of my life,” he said.
