The Sao Paulo-based club is negotiating a €25 million deal for the promising striker, along with a 20% sell-on clause, in a move that would see the player return to Brazil. While an agreement between Barcelona and Palmeiras has already been reached regarding the transfer fee, the deal is not yet finalised.
The move is contingent on Real Betis, where Roque is currently playing, giving their approval. Betis have a buy option for the player, and they hold the final say on whether the 19-year-old will be allowed to leave before the deal is officially completed.
Roque initially joined Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense in a highly anticipated move, with his contract at the Catalan club running until June 2031. However, with limited first-team opportunities, Barcelona decided to loan him out to Real Betis in August 2024, where he has continued to develop his skills in Spain's top flight.
Palmeiras are keen to add the highly-rated striker to their squad, which would not only bolster their attacking options but also align with their ambition to remain competitive in Brazil's top division.
As the negotiations progress, Palmeiras await the green light from Real Betis, which could ultimately pave the way for Roque to make his return to Brazil. This deal could benefit all parties involved, offering the young talent a fresh opportunity to shine on home soil.
