Manchester United's pursuit of a prolific striker appears to be nearing a successful conclusion, with reports from Nigeria indicating that a move for Victor Osimhen is all but agreed.
According to journalist Anthony Nlebem of Business Day, the transfer is '95 percent complete', with Ruben Amorim's side ready to trigger the €75 million release clause in Osimhen's Napoli contract.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker is on loan at Galatasaray and has been in fine form this season, with 20 goals and five assists in just 25 appearances.
The Red Devils' interest in Osimhen comes as no surprise given the problems of their current strikers, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, who have struggled for goals this season, scoring just five Premier League goals between them this term.
Contrary to rumours in recent months, the deal is expected to be a cash deal, with no United players included in the deal. Osimhen's contract with Napoli expires in 2026 and the Italian club look set to sell him next summer transfer window.
