The last few weeks of the transfer window continue to bring surprises. Saudi Arabian football, which started somewhat timidly and without the big splashes of the past, has stepped up a gear in the last few weeks and signed some of the best players on the European map.
Al-Ittihad, which is still home to the likes of Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante, made a final sprint to bring in two important transfers.
First, they announced the signing of Steven Bergwijn, who has left Ajax for Saudi Arabia for 21 million euros. At the age of 26, he will soon be leaving European football to join Laurent Blanc's Al-Ittihad.

The Dutchman ends his chapter in Amsterdam, where he spent two seasons and the beginning of this one. It was not the last signing of the day for the Saudi side, who were quick to announce the signing of Danilo Pereira.
The Portuguese midfielder left Paris Saint-Germain for five million euros to join Al-Ittihad. In his case, he closes his time in Europe at the age of 32 and after four seasons with the Parisian club.
Al-Ittihad have signed these two players to complement Laurent Blanc's squad with Rajkovic, Luiz Felipe, Kante, Aouar, Diaby and Benzema as other players also known for their past in Europe.
