For the past few weeks Neymar has been making headlines in the world football press. The Brazilian, who has not been registered for the Saudi league after Al Hilal's coach said he cannot compete at the level the team is used to, is packing his bags to leave Saudi Arabia.
The former Paris Saint-Germain player, who has made just seven appearances for the Saudi side since joining them in August 2023, is on the verge of returning to his boyhood club Santos, where he rose to fame before joining FC Barcelona.
Indeed, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Brazilian star, Santos and Al Hilal, i.e. all parties involved in the move, have reached a verbal agreement. However, there are still the formal steps to be followed for the final formulation of the agreement.
Initially there was talk of a possible loan deal, however, in recent days ‘L'Équipe’ has reported that the 32-year-old winger could terminate his contract with Al Hilal to join an investment fund in order to acquire a stake in the Brazilian club, which would allow him to have a salary not so reduced compared to the one he currently receives in Saudi Arabia.
