Although the departure of Christophe Galtier is no longer in doubt, it has still not been made official. And with good reason: Paris Saint-Germain and the coach are currently negotiating his severance agreement.
The 56-year-old coach is under contract until the end of the 2023/2024 season, and will receive compensation corresponding to the salary he would have been paid during that season. According to 'Le Parisien', he will receive 6 million euros (equivalent to 600,000 euros gross per month over the course of a year).
Hired last June to take over from Mauricio Pochettino, the Frenchman has not had the most stable year, dealing with top players in the dressing room, and has never offered a solid image in any of the three competitions he has played. Despite the domestic title that PSG won this year, one point ahead of Lens, PSG lost 10 matches in all competitions this season.
According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Galtier could rebound quickly with a move abroad, as he features alongside Paulo Sousa and Rudi Garcia on Napoli's shortlist of managers to replace Luciano Spalletti.
