Mohamed Salah closing in on new Liverpool deal

The Egyptian star has been at the centre of transfer talk with his deal tying him to Anfield expiring at the end of the season, and no apparent sign of a renewal, but recent reports have informed that Mohamed Salah is now closing in on a new contract with Liverpool.
According to 'The Times', the runaway Premier League leaders have made a breakthrough in negotiations with the 32-year-old, and are said to be confident he will agree to fresh terms, which could see his tenure reach the decade-mark.
The news comes just days after captain Virgil van Dijk, whose contract is also reaching its expiration date in June 2025, revealed significant progress had been made over a new deal, serving as a massive double boost for Liverpool.
While it is understood that there is a"growing expectation" that the Reds' top earner will extend their stay at Merseyside, Trent Alexander-Arnold seems destined to move to Real Madrid after the full-back reportedly agreed terms with the 15-time Champions League winners.
