Despite the looming uncertainty surrounding his future, Mohamed Salah is enjoying a remarkable campaign, with 30 goals and 22 assists across all competitions.
Liverpool remain in contention for three major trophies this season, but Salah has made it clear which one means the most to him. In an interview with Optus Sport, the 32-year-old explained that winning the Premier League is his primary goal this year, something he has longed for since Liverpool's last league title in 2020, a season overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The biggest motivation is to win the Premier League," he confessed. "Not even the Champions League. For seven years I've said the Champions League, but this is the first year I've said the Premier League. I just want to win it with the city and the fans to experience that day with them and go for the parade. It's going to be incredible."
Liverpool are currently leading the Premier League, holding a 13-point advantage over second-place Arsenal, although the Gunners have one game in hand. The Reds also have a Carabao Cup final against Newcastle to look forward to later this month, as well as a crucial Champions League last-16 tie against French champions PSG.
With his future at the club uncertain, the winger's desire to claim the Premier League title this season appears to be a defining goal in what could be a bittersweet final year at Liverpool.
