Despite the 22-year-old striker's recent struggles to score in games, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has backed Palmer to get back to his scoring ways.
"Cole Palmer is a human being and all human beings, all big players, all normal players, all the people at big clubs, all big managers, we go through a bad moment or moments where we struggle to score," Maresca said in response to Palmer's recent slump following Chelsea's 4-0 victory over Southampton.
The Italian tactician praised Palmer's reaction to this challenging period, noting, "He's laughing, he's happy. He has to enjoy football and, for sure, we don't have any doubt he is going to score more goals." Maresca's faith in Palmer stems from their shared history at Manchester City, where the manager first encountered the young talent five or six years ago.
Despite Palmer's recent dip in form Maresca remains optimistic about the player's future impact for the Blues even though he has recently contributed just two goals in eight games in 2025,
The Chelsea boss emphasised the importance of Palmer maintaining a positive mindset, saying, "When we don't win or he doesn't score he looks frustrated, but it's normal. We are completely happy with him."
