Brazilian right winger Antony Matheus trained for the first time on Tuesday under the orders of Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini, after arriving on loan until the end of the season from Manchester United and having trained alone on Monday.
Antony will be in the squad for next Sunday's match at the Benito Villamarin against Athletic Bilbao, which Betis face after their 1-0 win in Mallorca, and in which the Brazilian will join another important member of the Betis squad, the Argentine Giovani Lo Celso, who has already recovered from his muscle injury.
Lo Celso, injured against Valladolid, has already tried to make it to the game against Mallorca and on Tuesday he trained in a session in which, in the minutes open to the media, other recovered players were seen training normally, such as Swiss full-back Ricardo Rodriguez and centre-back Marc Bartra.
For the match against Athletic, the Betis coach will also be able to count on home-grown striker Jesus Rodriguez once the tests he has undergone have ruled out any injury to his ankle after the strong tackle he suffered in Mallorca by Mascarell and for which he was substituted in the final stretch of the match at Son Moix.
Pellegrini will be able to count on French left-back Romain Perraud after serving his suspension for his sending-off against Alaves, while right-back Aitor Ruibal, Senegalese Youssouf Sabaly and Hector Bellerin, left-back Ricardo Rodriguez, Portuguese William Carvalho, Argentinian Chimy Avila and Pablo Fornals are still injured.
