Manchester United are reportedly determined to retain Antony at the club when the January transfer window opens next week. The 24-year-old winger has faced significant criticism for his performances at Old Trafford since his £85million move from Ajax in August 2022.
Antony has yet to start a Premier League match this campaign, making only two substitute appearances in the league since Ruben Amorim took over as United's manager last month.
Despite ongoing speculation about a potential departure, the player's agent has sought to clarify Antony’s situation.
"To be honest, United have never indicated to us any intention to sell or loan out Antony," Junior Pedroso told GiveMeSport. "We haven’t received any communication suggesting that the club wants him to leave, despite the reports circulating about our client."
Pedroso further explained that his client is open to the idea of a loan move until the end of the season to regain his form at Old Trafford.
"Several clubs have made inquiries about Antony's situation for January," he continued. "These clubs wanted to understand the situation better, so I can confirm that there is genuine interest."
Pedroso also added that the Brazilian's future is closely tied to Amorim's plans. "If the club believes that a loan move would help Antony get more minutes and rebuild his confidence, we will consider that option together. Otherwise, Antony is fully committed to working hard, regaining his spot, and demonstrating his abilities under Ruben Amorim."
