Man Utd and Eriksen expected to part ways in June

32-year-old Christian Eriksen will be available as a free agent for next season. Fabrizio Romano, a journalist familiar with the transfer market, reports that there will be no agreement with the Manchester United board to extend his contract, which expires on 30th June 2025. He signed it on 15th August 2022, when he committed himself to the Red Devils after a season at Brentford.
The genesis of his return to the Premier League is Euro 2020, held in 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic. In the middle of a match with the Denmark national team, he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after which his future at Inter Milan became unfeasible. Hence the Bees took advantage of his farewell to the Italian side and offered him the chance to return to Great Britain, the prelude to an offer from the Red Devils.
For that stint at Gtech Community Stadium, he put his name back in the transfer window, so he looks like an interesting potential reinforcement for any 2025-26 project. At 32, he has offered no hints of an early retirement. In fact, he is a regular for his national team. In this same international break, he started in the defeat against Spain in the 5th round of the Nations League.
Christian Eriksen's market value is €14.5 million, so from an economic point of view, he would also be an interesting signing because of the virtual savings he would trigger. At the moment, no club has been approached to sign him.
