Fresh off his Ballon d'Or win, Rodri sat down for a chat with 'El Partidazo de Cope' to discuss his prestigious award. The midfielder also spoke on the ACL injury that has kept him on the sidelines since September, and will continue to do so for an extended period of time.
After two ligament tears, reports initially indicated that his season could be over, however, Rodri insisted that we have not seen the last of him this season, as he believes he can be back before the end of the 2024/2025 campaign.
"I have it in mind to return this season. The seasons are getting longer and now with the Club World Cup too..." the Manchester City player told 'El Partidazo de Cope'. "Mentally, it helps to have a challenge. But yes, I think I have it in mind to return this season. We'll see when," he added.
The 32-team Club World Cup is set to take plae in the United States from June 15th to July 13th, with the draw confirmed for the 5th of December in Miami. As a result, Rodri has eight months to make his return before the season officially terminates.
