Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, the Argentinian hinted at the club's efforts to secure the futures of their key players. "Hopefully Trent and Virgil can continue with us along with Salah," he said. Mac Allister also praised the right-back's importance to the team.
"TAA is crucial as we saw against Manchester City when he came back from injury. Like Salah, he is in negotiations and hopefully, he can continue in the team," he added.
Alexander-Arnold, a product of Liverpool's academy, has been a cornerstone of the squad for several seasons. His current deal runs until 2025, but the Reds are eager to tie him down to a longer-term contract as they plan for the future.
Meanwhile, talks with Salah and Van Dijk also signal the club's intent to maintain a strong core of experienced players. The Egyptian, linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer, and the Dutchman, now captain of the side, are seen as indispensable figures in Slot's squad rebuild.
With Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Van Dijk all central to the team's success, the club hopes to finalise negotiations in the coming weeks to continue building a competitive squad.
