The 28-year-old winger, who has been a standout player for Liverpool this season, has scored 13 goals in all competitions, with nine of those coming in the Premier League.
The Colombian's contribution has been vital to the club's strong season, which included a memorable Champions League hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen. Despite his importance to the team, he is not among the highest earners at Anfield.
This has led to speculation about a potential move, with some Spanish clubs often linked as a possible destination. However, Diaz seems focused on continuing his journey with Liverpool as he targets becoming the Premier League's highest-scoring Colombian player.
Currently with 25 league goals for the Reds, Diaz is just behind Colombian footballing greats like Hugo Rodallega, Hamilton Ricard and Juan Pablo Angel.
He expressed his excitement at potentially surpassing their tally: "It's a real pleasure for me to be right there close behind them and I realise that maybe I will catch them at some point. It's one of those personal targets I have.
"What I want the most is to keep making history and, first and foremost, that Colombians who come over to England to play really leave their mark. That's key for us all now – to give a positive image of our country, just like they all did," he continued. "Now those of us here are trying to do just that. I'm very happy with that and we hope to continue doing the same things in future."
