Arne Slot's side qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup after eliminating Accrington Stanley at Anfield thanks to goals from Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Hayden Danns. The Reds went in at half-time with a two-goal lead after a first half they controlled from the start. Nunez missed two clear-cut chances in the opening minutes but made amends by setting up Jota to open the scoring. Alexander-Arnold doubled the home side's lead with a superb goal just before the break. The home side played with low tempo at the start of the second half, although the changes brought fresh legs. Jayden Danns, who replaced debutant Ngumoha, added a third to secure the win. Chiesa was denied by the woodwork in the final minutes but managed to make amends by adding a fourth before stoppage time.
