Lewandowski on City boss Guardiola: "Pep was difficult, now he's more human"

Robert Lewandowski has a great deal of world-class managers throughout his career. Currently at Barca, he plays under Hansi Flick (with whom he also won the Champions League during his days at Bayern Munich), but Klopp (Dortmund), Guardiola (Bayern), Ancelotti (Bayern) and Nagelsmann (Bayern) are few others from his stacked roster.
The striker specifically spoke on the Spaniard during his latest appearance on Rio Ferdinand's podcast, 'Rio Ferdinand Presents', admitting that he was somewhat intimidated by the manager's obsession with team-tactics. "At the beginning it was tough," Lewandowski said, recalling the first time he met Guardiola at Bayern Munich. "Pep at that time was very focused on the football only. As a human, he was difficult for the players".
"He is so brilliant with his tactics. He knew if the players followed him they would win," the Polish captain added. That said, the Barcelona forward believes the Man City boss' methods have evolved a lot since, especially in terms of how human they are. "I saw later that he has started to change, personality-wise. He's human, he's learnt that being open with his players can sometimes help him more than tactics," Lewandowski told the former defender.
On the significance of tactics within a major game, the 36-year-old added: "Tactics are important. But, at this level (referring to a Champions League final or semi-final) I think different things can decide whether you win and not". Lewandowski's words resemble with Ancelotti's way of coaching in the eyes of the Manchester United icon, to which the Poland international responded: "Yes, exactly. He's like a father".
