Manchester United's chastening 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday left them languishing 14th in the Premier League table just three games into the season.
But they will not only have to make amends for their Premier League slip-ups on their return from the international break, they will also have their first taste of Europa League football against Eredivisie outfit Twente.
UEFA announced on Thursday the squad lists of all the teams that will participate in the inaugural league phase of the European competition. And some additions and exclusions of the Red Devils surprised fans and media alike.
Some currently injured players like Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro have been called up by manager Erik ten Hag to play in the Europa League but other key players like Alejandro Garnacho have been dropped from the initial list.
Some reports suggest that his exclusion is to avoid overloading the Argentine winger with too many games as the 20-year-old plays an important role for the Old Trafford outfit. And they don't exactly have an easy campaign ahead of them.
