Spaniard Juan Bernabe in charge of Lazio's eagle eagle, apologised on Wednesday for publishing photos of his penis implant that led to his immediate sacking.
"I must apologise for what happened, I am sorry, I am saddened and ashamed before the Italians and, above all, before the parents of the minors. I also apologise to the Lazio fans who suffered so much because of me," he said in a video on social media. Bernabe also apologised to Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who, as well as sacking him, also came down hard on the Cadiz native for his actions.
"I apologise to the president of the club because he represents Lazio, but not to him as a person, like Claudio Lotito. I hope that one day, when he talks to me, he will have some consideration for me too because of what Olympia means to the children. I did what I could in 15 years at Lazio, I take the consequences because I am a man, I am here to pay," he added.
Bernabe, who has lived in Lazio's sports complex for 15 years, refused to leave his home until the injury caused by the operation had healed. "Talking to some friends I was in tears, and I think it's normal. It's a hard moment, but the Lazio falconer, Juan Bernabe, is not a bad person," he said.
"I don't understand why so many people insult me, in life you can make mistakes. I ask for forgiveness. Forgiving is not a bad thing, because Jesus Christ also forgave and forgiving is always the most beautiful gift a person can receive", he commented. And he concluded: "I apologise, a lot. A hug to the whole club. Tolerance is the most beautiful thing we can have in life. A hug to everyone and Forza Lazio".
