Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo reached an agreeent in 2020 to postpone the payment of four months of the Portuguese's player salary, as shown in the document published by 'Il Corriere della Sera' on Thursday. This document puts Juventus in a difficult position as the club, who are already accused of financial fraud, did not mention these payments in their annual balance sheet.

Cristiano Ronaldo's well known "secret letter" in Italy, a document which Juventus hid back in the day, reveals the agreement Juventus had with the Portuguese star. The Serie A side promise to pay Ronaldo 19.9 million euros which comes to exactly four months salary at the club.
Juventus said that they had agreed a pay cut with their players to reduce the effects of the pandemic, but the Prosecutor's office revealed, thanks partly to this "secret letter", that Ronaldo had not taken a pay cut. Simply, he had just agreed to defer the payment of three of the four months (March to June 2020). The payment does not appear in the balance sheet for that year. For this reason, the Prosecutor's office considers it to be fiscal fraud.
"Dear Mr Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Avieiro. We follow up on the agreements reached and attach the complementary bonus recognised in your favour to this document," it read this Thursday. "If this condition does not end up being fulfiled, you will have the right to receive an incentive because of dismissal," it adds.
The document was seized by Italy's financial police on 23rd March 2022, according to 'Il Corriere della Sera', during a search carried out in Juventus' offices and it is only signed by Fabio Paratici, Juve's sporting director at the time.
Juventus did not only agree the payment of Cristiano's salaries to be deferred. Other players such as Paulo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini also reached the same agreement with the club.
