Following a relatively slow start to the 2024/25 campaign, Jude Bellingham seems to be back to his best as he was named La Liga Player of the Month for December, thus succeeding his teammate Vinicius Junior, winner of the award in November.
It's the first time the English midfielder has won the award this season. Nonetheless, it remains a well-deserved prize given his outstanding performances over the month, which saw him haul four goals in four successive matches and two assists in total.
He began the month by netting from the penalty spot against Getafe, assisting in the same match as he provided the key pass for Mbappe's goal. He was back on the score sheet in the following game at Athletic Club, though his goal was not enough to save his side from a frustrating loss. In the victory over Girona, Bellingham scored and assisted before he scored his final goal of the month in the draw at Rayo Vallecano.
Despite ending his goalscoring streak against Sevilla, the former Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund player beat his peers in contention for the prize. Oihan Sancet (Athletic Club), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Raphinha (Barcelona) and Sandro Ramirez (Las Palmas) were the other nominees for the La Liga EA Sports Player of the Month for December.
